i am not a dwarf

So far things were going ok for Tyrion in Storybrooke, considering he'd never meant to end up here in the first place. For now he was staying at the Dragonfly Inn, though he hoped to change that soon now that he had a job working as the Town Treasurer for the mayor. He wasn't looking for anything big like where he was used to living back in Westeros, but perhaps a small home with some space of his own so that he wasn't tripping over other people at the Inn, and constantly being mistaken for a dwarf. In some ways it had been nice not being ridiculed for his size, for his shortfalls, especially by his family. However, apparently most people around here saw short men and thought dwarfs. While it was true they called his condition dwarfism, problem was as far as he knew he was entirely human. Not to mention from what he'd read dwarves weren't born any way but hatched or some nonsense. If Tyrion had been hatched he certainly then couldn't have been blamed for killing his mother during his birth, granted that didn't stop people in his realm from wondering if his mother had cheated on her husband with a dwarf. Which Tyrion was fairly confident hadn't happened.

Today he had the morning off, so he decided to walk around town a bit, and at some point he found himself further on the outskirts of town. He had no real destination in mind any more. Originally he was just going to wander around looking at any vacant homes for rent, but now he was past most of the homes. He saw some signs, one said something about bean fields, another about mines. Eventually he came to a small lake, a large house on the other side of it. The house didn't looked lived in, but it also looked far too large for what Tyrion needed, even if it did come closer to resembling the size places he was used to living in. He leaned up against a tree and fished a flask out from the bag he had slung over his shoulder, filled with wine. He just stood there against the tree, watching the lake, the house, and enjoying a bit of wine.

The weirdest part about Grumpy's life in Storybrooke these days was that things were somewhat settling down for the most part. He wasn't sure whether he was ok with this or not. Yes he hated the craziness, but, also he hated the quiet. It caused him to think about too many things, and, that wasn't what he wanted either. He hadn't really had much to do these days, yes he was helping in the mines, but, he'd been stuck with a janitor job at the hospital for the past 3 decades. So he was still doing that some of the time, as much as he despised everything about the job. Back when the curse had been over him, and, he was just Leroy he had gotten angry when he was called a dwarf, because he thought people were just making fun of his height. Heck, he'd gotten into a bar fight with at least one man because of this. But, now that the curse was broken, he knew that he really was a dwarf. So maybe he shouldn't have gotten angry at all of those people after all. But, then again he may have found another reason to get angry. Since he was cursed to be the town drunk who never really had a rational thought in his head. It's what he got for being Snow White's best friend now didn't it?

Grumpy was glad that he had been given the day off at the hospital. He didn't want to go anyway. Grumpy knew that Sneezy and Sleepy were stuck at their own jobs. So not all of the dwarves would be there, but, that didn't mean he couldn't do some of the work anyway right? With the dwarves that were available to help. As he kept the axe over his shoulder, Grumpy adjusted his jacket before he made his way through the town and towards the bean fields. Soon he reached the fork that would lead him to the bean fields, but, he chose to look around a little bit more first. As he did, he spotted another man sitting by a tree. The fact that he had wine made him think that maybe this guy wasn't all bad. But, he had his reason for coming out here. Grumpy decided to go over anyway, since he did promise Snow he would try and make more friends. He let out a soft grunt as he moved towards the tree. “Interesting sight isn't it?”

i am not a dwarf

Tyrion turned towards the noise he heard and saw another man walking towards him, once Grumpy was standing next to Tyrion, he realised that the other man wasn't that much taller than Tyrion, perhaps a little under than a foot. Tyrion had to assume that the man was either in the same situation Tyrion was, stunted growth at birth, or he was one of those dwarves that he'd heard were in Storybrooke, since most adult men were more like two feet at least taller than Tyrion so he had to strain his neck to look up at them. Figures that Tyrion would end up even shorter than actual dwarves, just his luck, he didn't fit in anywhere. He shrugged, glanced from the man and then back to the lake.

"I prefer sea views myself, but it is a quaint little lake, and a quaint little house sitting on the quaint little lake." Of course by the town's standards the 'quaint little house' was actually a mansion, but where Tyrion was from, the castle he grew up in made that little mansion look like a cottage, and that was just comparing it to Casterly Rock, let alone Kings Landing. Tyrion made due with a much smaller home though in Storybrooke, that Regina had helped set him up with after hiring him for the town treasurer job, Tyrion didn't really need large, not in this town, small suited him just fine. Tyrion then eyed the pickaxe, he'd heard that some of the dwarves worked in mine, but it seemed all a bit too cliche, but apparently they actually did, because why else would the guy need a pickaxe.

"That's a very pointy pickaxe, planning to use that on zombies or are you one of those that work in the mine that I heard about?" Though he supposed the pickaxe could be used for both purposes.
