<p>Evanna had quite a lot on her plate lately, besides her new job as a nurse at the hospital, and then in November finally having the big reveal conversation with her son while he was demon possessed. Now to make things more complicated she found out it seemed Rumple had forgotten the entire conversation once the demon was gone, if he'd even heard to begin with as she wasn't sure how the possession had worked. Apparently it had gotten to the point the demon was the one driving things and Rumple had been pushed back to some dark corner of his own mind, perhaps, she really wasn't sure how it worked but that's what it sounded like. Now there were more people who knew besides her and her horrible ex husband who went by the name Peter Pan these days, though only a few people for now. It hadn't been an easy conversation to have to begin with, but at the time she hadn't known exactly what had been making him act like he was, otherwise maybe she would have held off until after they'd gotten the demon out of him. She wasn't sure how she would bring it up again, Rumple had been avoiding people he'd hurt, since he had so many apologies to make because the demon driving his body had done some pretty awful things around Storybrooke for the month it was in control.

<p>Now she felt even more weighed down with this secret than she had before speaking to the demon possessed Rumple, when she had only been heavily suspecting the truth and wasn't entirely certain. Sure the facts all lined up, Rumple's age, where he grew up in the Enchanted Forest, and Rumplestiltskin wasn't exactly a common name. How did you tell someone twice, especially now that she knew how many awful things Malcolm had told his son. She hadn't abandoned Rumple, but he was raised believing she had, since he was only a small toddler when Malcolm took their son and left her in the middle of the night while she had been given a sleeping drought in her tea to make sure she wouldn't wake up until they were long gone.

<p>Eventually she'd have to figure out how to approach the subject with Rumple yet again, and in the mean time she decided to wait a bit. Maybe it would be easier if she told someone else first, she knew Neal from the Underworld, though not for very long, but long enough to know he was a decent sort and someone she was proud to think of as a grandson, even if he didn't know she was his grandmother yet. She decided to go for a walk in the park to clear her head. It was chilly, but it hadn't snowed for a few weeks. She was bundled up warm and had a large hot tea from Granny's with her. She was in too deep thought to even care about the cold any how, and too preoccupied to notice anyone or anything around her. She paused by the frozen duck pond and just looked out over it, lost in thought.

<p>On the bright side, the reveal had made it easier in other ways, she was no longer alone wondering if her suspicions were true about Rumple being <i>her</i> Rumple, her son she'd spent years searching for. Now a few others knew even if Rumple didn't remember currently. Neal knew, Emma of course knew by extension, and a couple of others. Of course Pan knew simply because he had always known, stupid bastard had even known who Evanna really was back when they met in the Underworld and hadn't bothered to reveal that he was really her ex husband Malcolm.

<p>Eventually she'd have to figure out how to approach the subject with Rumple yet again, and in the mean time she decided to go visit Emma at the Sheriff Station, along with coffee and doughnuts, she didn't want to turn up empty handed after all. Though she wasn't entirely sure that Emma would be there, if she hadn't been so preoccupied in her own thoughts about everything going on than perhaps she would have remembered that it wasn't Emma's day to be on duty. She walked in and peered around.

<p><b>"Hello? Emma, you around? Anyone?"</b> She poked her head and looked around, the last time she'd been in a sheriff station, it had looked quite like this one, but it had been in Underbrooke and James and Cruella had been her captors, upset that she'd been making the children comfortable and happy in the Underworld when Hades wanted everyone miserable and without any hope.

Evanna was so happy to be in Storybrooke, to be alive, to have found her family, but there were days that it seemed odd and almost surreal. She tried to busy herself with the new life, the new duties at the hospital, but there were some days that no matter how much she worked towards focusing on her new routine, she found herself missing her old routine in the Underbrooke. She had after all spent over three hundred years with that same routine, helping all the lost children who died young and found themselves with unfinished business. That routine had been her life line, her sanity, her everything for so long. This feeling often led her to falling back into her old routine when she had a day off from her duties at the hospital and found herself with no family plans. Not that she expected to find any lost children wandering around Storybrooke or in the forest, but just going through the motions of her old routine, gave her a sense of peace.

It was easy to mimic her old routine since for the last several years the Underworld mirrored Storybrooke, there were small differences of course, here and there scattered about. The clock was one of the most obvious since in Underbrooke it was in the middle of the street as if it had been toppled over. Then of course there was the graveyard, which wasn't that different except some of the stones that had fallen over or been cracked in two. She liked this Storybrooke much better, it smelled like life, the living all around. The weather changed, the seasons, it was lovely, and it made her long walks around Storybrooke all the more fulfilling.

Today she decided to go for her usual walk around the forest, she imagined her son wouldn't be that happy about it with the zombie problem going on around Storybrooke, but she imagined she'd be no more safe in town as outside of town. Plus weren't the zombies attracted to people, she imagined they'd attack in the populated areas more than the forest. Still, she did toss a dagger into her bag she was carrying just in case. The season was turning into a nice spring, wet, but at least the days were warmer and much of the snow was melting. She was dressed in just her casual clothes and a very warm sweater. She tried not to stray too deep into the forest, she slowly made her way towards the troll bridge, whistling as she walked along.

When Evanna first arrived in Storybrooke, alive and finally free of the Underworld after a few centuries, if someone had told her then just how confusing and crazy she would soon find out her family tree had gotten, she would have laughed. Her son still live after all this time and the dark one, ha. Her estranged ex-husband also alive and reverted back to looking like a teenage boy all these years, ha. On the other hand, she was now surrounded by several generations of her family after having felt like she'd failed her family for all those years in the Underworld. Maybe in some strange way the magic that her son had cast to get the heroes out of the Underworld was just a part of a much larger cosmic plan, for her to have another chance at having the family she'd always wanted. It had been a bumpy road, but she was beginning to feel like it was all worth it in the end.

After Evanna's little excursion to that other rather prehistoric realm she had fallen into with Auron, she had realised something, her minor healing magic was all well and good but Evanna didn't know a stitch of magic that could have helped her properly defend herself. Back when she'd been alive in the Enchanted Forest she'd mainly helped out as a mid-wife in villages that her and Malcolm travelled to, she only needed healing magic, it was all she'd ever really cared about. Granted it might have come in handy during her confrontation in the barn that had ultimately killed her, but now that she was alive again, she didn't want to end up in yet another situation that would land her back in the Underworld all because she couldn't defend herself.

It wasn't as if she wanted to learn anything heavy, but now that she finally had her family she wanted to live, for herself and for them. She'd discussed it briefly with Rumple shortly after she made it back to Storybrooke with Auron, about needing to learn more. Who better to study it from than her own son. Granted the fact that his powers were from the fact he was the dark one did mildly concern her, she was his mother and she did not judge him for the decisions he had made in the past that led him down that road. She was just happy to have him in her life again, and planned to make up for a lot of lost years.

It was her day off from the hospital, so she headed over to Rumple's shop where she assumed he would be and walked in, the bell jangling over the door indicating someone had entered. She still remembered her first visit to this shop, all those months ago when she first met Mr. Gold, she didn't know then what she knew now. As she got more curious about the locket he'd had, and when she found out his Enchanted Forest name, she'd started to dig more and more into who he was, and some stories she learned about him didn't paint a pretty picture. At first she'd just assumed he was perhaps an ancestor of hers, that her son had gone on to have children, and then those children had children, instead she found out a different truth of course. Despite all the not so shiny stories she heard about her son, she still loved him, and none of the rest mattered. She was proud of the man he had become, the man that Belle had married, and she was so happy to have him back in her life.

"Rumple, are you around?"
She called out towards the back room, as she walked around the front of the shop.

tags Peter Pan / Notes: Underworld shortly after Pan died

</div></div>

<div class="stellaa5">

<p>Evanna couldn't recall the moment she stopped noticing just how much time was passing in the Underworld. She had been dead for so long, decades upon decades wandering the Underworld with the rest of those with unfinished business. One thing she would never forget however, was that first lost child she found, alone, hungry and scared hiding in a small cave that Evanna found while out on one of her walks. She knew children died, for various reasons death found them and took them too early from the land of the living, but it hadn't occurred to her that any could find their way here. She supposed it made some sense, children plucked so early in life would have unfinished business. Her heart went out to the child, and from that moment on she found real purpose for herself in the Underworld. Year after year, decade after decade, she went out and gathered in any children who were lost and needed help. She became their surrogate mother of sorts.

<p>For ages the Underworld always looked the same, until that odd day that Hades decided to redecorate and suddenly the Underworld became Underbrooke. Evanna had never seen Storybrooke, as time passed she heard more and more stories of it, a town created by a dark curse, people taken from the Enchanted Forest, something about an evil Queen. The living world had changed a lot since Evanna had last walked it, so names meant very little to her.

<p>Evanna had a routine in the Underworld, one that changed only a small bit after it was redecorated to look like Underbrooke. The redecoration had actually worked in Evanna's favour, there were now various buildings and things that had never been there before, and she found a much better large house to use to keep the children safe and sheltered. Some of the older children the ones that were very nearly adults themselves, helped her look after the younger children. Most days she would make sure all the children in her care were fed and then she would go off on errands. Get supplies, walk around and look to see if any new children had arrived, stop around to visit a few adults she had made friends with.

<p>Today was like most days, she went around on some of her errands, and when she didn't find any new kids around the forest, she decided to take a walk through the park. The weather never changed much in the Underworld, always just sort of this balmy average temperature, same season, same, same, same. Sometimes Evanna missed the seasons, missed weather patterns, the warm spring rain after a long cold winter, the first fresh snow fall after a long hot summer, it had been so long she wasn't sure she even remembered what those things felt like any more. Eventually she found a park bench and decided to just sit and rest for a few moments before heading back to the children.
