Willow could hardly stand this. How many nights had to end up being sleepless and horror filled in this place? These nightmares just felt like they were getting worse and worse with each passing day, and it was starting to show in her daily work environment. She knew she certainly couldn't keep gong like this, but magic wasn't always the answer, was it? Just this once, she told herself. She didn't like relying on it when it was a spell she'd never really attempted at before, but it had seemed simple enough. Enchanting a dream catcher shouldn't be that hard in theory, and as she drew the circle earlier that day to start the little spell, she thought things were going just fine. The momentary distraction of a text did little to hinder it, or so she thought, and soon it was hanging above her bed waiting to drag away the terrifying visions.

In just a few short hours, the red head finally dragged herself into bed. One would think she'd been in Storybrooke long enough to regulate her sleep schedule a bit better but habits that old died a lot harder than she thought. Pleasant thoughts were drifted through her head, hopes of the spell to help, and she'd been certain that they would stay far away. Self-retaught or not, she wasn't too terrible with her magic. It wasn't nearly as different from what she was used to as it could have been, after all. She'd been so happy when she drifted off into her dreams.

Things just never work out the way they should.

Everything had seemed fine at first, though incredibly lucid. She was just in the town, snow falling from the clouds and continuing to blanket the streets. There wasn't a car in sight, though she supposed that was normal, though the completely emptiness of the place was certainly a bit offsetting. Small as it was, it always felt like there was someone walking along the sidewalks or crossing the road. Never empty, never this quiet. What should have been relaxing felt a lot more sinister than she cared for. The only sound that seemed to fill the air was the soft echo of crunching snow with each step she took. Such familiarity and ease shouldn't be so down right disturbing, should it? The ever darkening color of the snow clouds was really the only thing showed anything terrible about the scene, though. She just needed to relax, what could possibly go wrong? "So quiet," she muttered as she continued to walk.

What could possibly go wrong?

Finally, freedom! Don't get her wrong, she loved her job, quite a bit too, but some days she just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. Sadly, despite that, she ended up spending a bit of extra time at the Diner that day. One of the waitresses had called in sick and, well, it wasn't like Willow actually had plans to do anything outside of her usual trek out to the Wishing Well. And she knew she could always use a bit of spare cash, anyway. But man, she was not used to working so long. It'd been nearly closing time by the time she'd finally left. Thankfully, she was excused a little bit early. She probably should have stayed back to help with the clean up, now that she thought about it. Even if it would have taken her off of her own usual schedule on these days than she already was, it would have been the rght and helpful thing to do. She paused on her way around to get to the front of the bed and breakfast, looking back behind herself. She hadn't necessarily needed to walk around, either. She knew very well that she could get up to her room from through the diner, she'd just wanted the moment of air. Still, she could probably go back, see if they still needed a bit of help. It wasn't as though it would really take that much time out of her like at this point, would? But she was already this far. It was with a bit of a guilty conscience that she continued moving forward.

When she got there, she went right up to her room and got changed. She considered getting a shower quick, but she knew that she was only going to end up getting more dirt on her before she actually went to bed. After all, it wasn't exactly clean work making the small journey from the B&B to the Well. Though she could also probably go to the graveyard instead. Strange how comforting a place like that could be for someone. She certainly didn't look the type who liked to spend all her days in a graveyard either. Perhaps it was simply the homely aspect of it, though. That part of it that made it seem like it was someplace at least close to home, knowing damn well she was no where near it. Even if there were no vampires to really look out for, at least she could have some small semblance of normality. And, while magic might not always be the smartest to practice in a cemetery, she also understood that it was different in this world. Hopefully different enough that she wouldn't be able to accidentally raise any bodies from the dead. That would be quite disastrous if she did and she was pretty sure she'd had enough of the undead in her lifetime.

She pushed that idea out of her head as she finished changing and gathered up her small bag of supplies. She had a few books she'd found in the library as well as the book she'd been using when she got sucked into the portal (something she'd found rather damaged off the road when she'd gone back to investigate where she landed), her own personal journal that she'd started taking notes on her magic and how it was working in this place in, and then her usual practice supplies such as various pencils, dried herbs, and some candles. The bag was slung over her shoulder as she headed out. Her thoughts started drifting, heading for the front rather than the exit through the diner. They were likely all closed up back there by now as it were. Humming softly, she found herself happily getting her mental maps ready so that she could head for the graveyard. It was definitely going to be a quicker walk that way, wouldn't waste so much time. But, being lost in her head, as well as having a lacking in knowing someone was on the other side of that door, she found herself colliding with another the moment the doors opened up. Her bag fell to the ground as she fell backwards. The sudden impact had certainly caught her off guard. She hardly cared about the small bit of soreness starting to irritate her rear, though. She just felt horrible about knocking into someone else. "Oh my goddess, I am so sorry. Are you okay? I didn't realize someone was coming in."

This was frustrating. Absolutely frustrating! Seriously, why on earth couldn't she find the information? It shouldn't be all that hard, right? She'd been hitting the books as much as she could, been looking at everything and anything that she could possibly find, and yet nothing. How hard could it be to find details on one stupid monster, right? She'd even taken some of the books out of the library before Giles could tell her no and hid them so she could flip through them at home. She should have talked to him first, yes. Probably should have talked to any one of the Scoobs, but they all seemed to be as stumped as her with this beast and she'd had just about enough of it. And it wasn't like Buffy was really around to help. She'd been gone all summer and hadn't come back yet. She wanted to try and be the hero, wanted to try and help save this day. Bust into the library with the triumphant 'I know what's going on' and 'I think I found how we can kill it'. She rarely felt as though she was that person, rarely felt like she was as much help as she could be. That was part of the reason she'd started studying magic on her own. At least with magic, she started to feel a bit more useful. And at least magic had been able to save the day a time or two.

Like with Angelus.

Just thinking his name made her shudder. She was fine with Angel, or at least trying to get back to that point where she was perfectly fine with Angel again, but she still couldn't get the idea that he'd been sitting inches away from her face when she'd been sleeping was still so engraved into her mind. It was terrifying, really. But she couldn't let it remain terrifying. They'd get back there some day... maybe. Not that any of that mattered. Magic wasn't doing much to help with this research and neither were these books. But there was something that could probably help a little. Biting her lip lightly, she pushed the books to the side of her bed so that she could grab her laptop and start typing something in. She'd found a site a couple months back with some people she could contact if she really needed it. It wasn't as though it was an easy site to find, one of those places you have to know where you're looking, know what all hoops to jump through. Legal uses of the computer hadn't ever really been her thing, anyway. It shouldn't have been much of a surprise she'd found it.

After pulling up the page, she copied the username and then pulled up her messenger. There was a moment of hesitation as she tried to think of whether this was a good idea or not. She doubted it could be a demon again, but who was to say it could be a good thing either? Oh god, why did it matter, she had run out of options as it was. She might as well just do this thing. What was the worst that could happen. First she sent the friend request, then she started to type.

Alright, so I know this is going to be really weird. You don't know me, I don't know you, but I found your username and I thought you might be able to help me. It's a sort of 'super' problem, if you know what I mean. I hear you know how to deal with them and this isn't one i'm finding in any of the books I have. I would really appreciate a little input, if you have the time.

Even after she had it written, she wasn't sure how much she liked it. She was trying to be formal, do as much with it as she could, but she wasn't sure if it was too formal or not formal enough. If it was worded awkwardly, if it was worded just right. Oh, the troubles with messaging strangers. She had to close her eyes before she hit the enter button. This would have been so much easier in a chatroom. "I hope this works..."

Welcome to Willow's Wants
I'll make this a proper want ad eventually, but for now, it's going to be a list of characters I want to see and why I want to see them for Willow! All of them are from Buffy. (i might have ended up making this a more proper want ad than i initially intended but shhhh xD details, right?) Of course, any Buffy characters not on this list would be more than welcome, like Angel, Dawn, Cordy, or Spike, but these are the four that I would just absolutely love to see the most. History wise, season seven never happened. Its au post season six. And most of these characters should be between 24-26 years old.

Tara Maclay
Played by Amber Benson
Tara was her girlfriend, a witch that seemed to always try and do her best to keep Willow level as well as sort of help her understand who she really was. While Willow's history is slightly AU, what isn't AU is the fact that something happened that caused Tara's death and Willow didn't take it too well. She was in love with Tara, and i'd go as far to say that there's was a pretty true love, and then, just like that, she was gone forever, in front of her own eyes. Though, with the way things are, she doesn't have to be gone forever. I'd love to see her around the site and it'd be fun to see how things go if Tara reappears. Willow could certainly use her back in her life.

Added Note: There may not be a chance for renewed romance as Willow has finally moved on and has started dating Charlie Bradbury. However, Tara would certainly still be a welcome addition and a point of confliction for both Willow and Charlie. All the angst, all the sadness, all the pain. We need it.

So, since we've recently lost our Giles, I thought I would add him to my want ads because he's kind of super important. Giles is the reason Willow ended up in Storybrooke. He went missing a couple of months ago, for reasons whoever takes him up can decide on (whether that be a spell gone wrong or a portal opening up), so he's got a little time spent in this town. The Scoobs were clearly all worried about him and Willow thought that she could find him with a spell, which sort of backfired on her since it opened a portal that took her to Storybrooke herself. Giles is pretty pivotal to Willow's life. He's probably closer to a parent than her own parents are considering at least he never tried to burn her at the stake. He's also been very accepting of the fact that she chose magic, and has even helped her quite a bit with it in the past. He's the unofficial head and chaperone of the group and, while everyone teases him, they all clearly love him like he's their family. Really, he's super important and he's really needed around, especially with Buffy and Faith being in Storybrooke with Willow.
Alexander "Xander" Harris
Played by Nicholas Brendon
Xander is Willow's best guy friend, and has been by her side since pretty much the beginning (i'm not talking about just where high school stands either). They've been best friends since they were children, often staying at one or the other's houses and had pretty much been family for each other. And she could certainly use her best friend. Not to mention, there are so many AU and past opportunities I would just looooooove to play out with the two, considering everything they've been through. And even if not, it'd be really nice to see this goofball around. (I should probably note that, despite the gif, this is not looking for a romantic plot xD she just really wants her friend back. The scene that gif comes from is just far too cute and the other ones i wanted to use didn't really show his face so... that was the best i was getting >_>).

Buffy Summers
Played by Sarah Michelle Gellar
Buffy is her best female friend, and Willow absolutely adores her. She was probably one of the first genuine gal pals she ever had and has been looking up to Buffy for quite a while. Whenever she needed someone to vent to, she had this chick. They were so close, that Willow ended up living with her after awhile and they were roommates in college. Buffy helped Willow grow so much out of who she used to be. Willow was shy, awkward, and tended to let people walk all over her, but Buffy had been there to help her come out of her shell, help her start to find herself, which had always been quite awesome to me. We have a Giles, we have a Faith, now we need a Buffy. There's so much for them to do around this town, and hey! Even if there's no vampires, at least there's still the cemetery to make her feel more at home.

Daniel "Oz" Osborne
Played by Seth Green
Now, I don't want an Oz for any romantic plots or the like, although past cuteness and au could be a lot of fun with these two. I want him around because, like Buffy, he'd helped her come out of her shell a bit. He was her first real boyfriend, and outside of her crushes on Xander, i feel like he was the first person she truly loved, even if it didn't always seem like it. The way he first saw her was always cute and how they ended up officially meeting and becoming friends/slowly becoming more had been pretty unique, in my opinion. He'd have to get used to being a different breed of werewolf, because i'm certain the magic in storybrooke would make him less humanoid and more wolf when he shifted, but at least he'd have others like him, and i think he'd be a neat addition. But, considering when Willow last saw him, he was leaving to go be with Veruca, it could be fun to get them reintroduced to each other and have a friendship going again. ^^

Willow had come prepared tonight. Yeah, she wasn't actually going to try any sort of super complicated spell to try and see if she could figure her way back home, but she had wanted to be up here so she could have some time away from the rest of the world. There were plenty of spots in the forest she could have gone about practicing her magic, certainly. But she worried about doing something that might make the pretty forest a bit less pretty. At least here, there was a nice opening, she could gaze up at the stars, and the feel of the magic coming from that wishing well was incredibly exhilarating. She could hardly remember the last time she really let the magic fill her like this, the last time she'd be so excited to practice. It'd been harder since that dark patch in her life, but now? Maybe now she could move on, maybe now she could go back to doing what she loved. She couldn't be afraid of what she was, after all. So she'd come prepares. It wasn't much. Just a couple of candles and herbs if she got real risque with the magic, a pencil to practice the whole telekinesis thing to make sure she didn't get rusty with it, and some various bags full of this and that for if she decided to go full out with the spell work.

When she had gotten to the Wishing Well, it was already dark, stars slowly starting to speckle the night sky, and the bright moon cast a slight glow on the place. The sight of it made her smile again. She loved this place, it had to have the best view of the entire town. Plus, it was so surrounded by nature she felt like it made it a bit easier for her to really focus on that aspect of her magic. She set her bag down in front of the well, letting her hand rest on it a moment so that she could look out over the horizon line. Even at night, it was gorgeous. It didn't matter that it was something of a hike from town, because it was certainly worth it. She almost wished that she had brought a pillow with her, it certainly seemed worth spending a night out here, at least once, but oh well. Maybe she could work with that sort of aspect of magic tonight: conjuring. It could be fun!

Before that, though, she needed to relax. Pushing away from the well, she took a few steps forward before settling down on the ground to sit. Magic was different here, she had to remember that she was still adjusting to it, and before she could really adjust to it, she needed to try and calm down a little. Her legs crisscrossed as her eyes shut and her hands went to rest on her knees. Slowly, she focused on her breathing. In through her nose, out through her mouth. She needed to be calm, level-headed, clear her mind and just focus on the energy around her. The light breeze jostled her hair, tickling her cheeks, but she easily ignored that as she tried to find her center. After a few moments of that, she opened her eyes and started to smile again. "Okay... Let's see what I got," she chuckled. There was one thing she had wanted to try. While defensive magic wasn't necessarily something she'd ever thought she'd need that badly before, it was never a bad idea to try, right? Besides, she remembered doing it when she'd gone rogue. As bad as those memories were, she knew that she could use it for good reasons as well. Like lighting a dark path for herself.

She focused as she lifted her right hand up, rolling her wrist slightly as she did so. Her mind focused on the idea of fire, thinking the latin word for it over and over in her head. She knew she could do this, right? It couldn't be that hard right? It wasn't instantaneous by any means the focus only seemed to help partly. First she saw a small spark, though the fact that it faded quickly made her frown. She tried rolling her wrist again and again hoping it might make some sort of fire appear, but it didn't at first. "C'mon, work." She wasn't entirely sure how long it took, but when she say the small ball of fire form over her hand, a grin took over her features. She didn't let it grow too big, focusing as hard as she could to keep it contained, but the fact that it worked filled her with more delight than she probably should have had. Moving her arm closer to herself, her hand turned so that it would face outward before she pushed out, making the small ball of fire fly out a few feet before it fizzled out. Now that was cool.
